Oh Happy Day!!!

On July 15th, 2009, my brother's wife, Amber gave birth to my niece, Kaitonn Grace. She was born right after 6 pm that evening. I don't remember her stats, but she was as healthy as can be. Her two older sisters were very proud and happy to finally see her as we all were. Here are all three girls: Konner, Karcynn, and Kaitonn. Konner and Karcynn are my brother's step- daughters.

One proud Aunt!!!! This child looks just like Justin. There is no denying her.

The two newest cousins, Kaitonn and Hunter.

July 4, 2009

This fourth of July was just like all others. We have a tradition now where we take a family photo out by our American Flag and then we head to Lake Nocona for a fun filled day in the water and with family. Mackenzie enjoyed jumping off the dock with her cousin Kassi this year. Here is our family photo:
I even took a picture of Mackenzie and Hunter.

Hunter

Well, I left off with having no stats on Hunter's one month check up: He is 10 lbs. 13 oz. and 21 1/2 inches. He is doing great. He is now sataying awake longer during the day and smiling and cooing at pretty much everything. He really loves his mobile that Mackenzie made at school. He will lay in his pack and play for hours just gazing up at it and "talking to it". It is so cute. Here are some more recent pictures of our growing boy.

Hunter and I spend some quality time together during the week. I enjoy taking pictures of him in different outfits. He, on the other hand, probably hates it. It is something he is going to have to get used to.

We go to his 1 month appointment on Tuesday. I will report back with stats.

The Dancing Princess

Wow!!! It sure has been a long time since I have posted anything. I think it is due time to get everyone caught up. I have been super busy with, well, the new baby- Hunter. I will post another entry on him next.

First, I wanted everyone to see some pictures of Mackenzie and one of her friends in their dance recital outifits. The Dance Recital was held on May 30. Mackenzie's friend is Jaden, and she is 5.

On to the pictures.........

Now, for some actual dance recital pictures...

This is Griffin, one of Mackenzie's friends.

Mackenzie is just to the left of the tall girl. They are dancing to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

The above two pictures are of their tap dance to a song called "I'm So Glad I'm Me"

We hope everyone is having a fantastic summer.

Missing 4 years too early

It was a beautiful Thursday, all was going just like any other day; Mackenzie was at school and Nathan and I were at work. It was the end of my day and I was just about to settle behind my desk to do some last minute grading when I decided to check my cell phone to see if anyone had called me during the day. I started listening to my voicemails and at 1:00 my daughter's school had called me saying that I needed to call them back ASAP. Need I remind you that it was already 3:00 when I am listening to my messages. So, not knowing what the urgency was, I immediately hung up on my voicemails and dialed the number. Lo and behold, my daughter has somehow managed to pretty much knock out a front tooth. I don't even take the time to turn my computer off, and I am off and running to the exit door of my school; saying bye to my coworkers in mid-stride. Evidently, she somehow ran into a coat hook that is up on the wall where they place their jackets and backpacks. As soon as I get to the school, my precious daughter "she woman" proceeds to show me that her tooth is messed up. It is litterally sticking out of her mouth, still attached to her gums. There was not a tear in her eyes. So, we rush to the dentist office where Nathan is waiting on us. Again, Mackenzie says, "Look, daddy, my tooth is sticking out of my mouth. We get into the dentist office and wait for the assistant to call us back. There was no hope of saving the tooth, so, yep, you guessed it, it had to be extracted. Mackenzie got to pick out her color of "pig nose" - the one they put on for the nitrious gas. She chose a red one. She opened her mouth to let Dr. Jackson check it out without any hesitation. Once the nitrious kicked in, you couldn't get the girl to stop talking. I am so glad she handled that well. Next, came the numbing gel and the shot to "make the tooth go to sleep". Again, no hesitation on that. We had to sit there for about 5 minutes for the shot to take affect, and no more had Dr. Jackson walked back in the room, he was ready to pull the tooth. It took a good twisting and turning to get it out, but he succeeded. My baby was a champ through the whole thing.

So, we got home and she showed off her pig nose and tooth to everyone that was home. I did have some pictures of her tooth, but somehow, they got erased from my camera. So, that night, the tooth fairy visited and left her a special gift, being that it was about 4 years too early for her to be losing a tooth. And of course, I can't get the tooth back to recreate the pictures. I retook what I could without her tooth in her hand. These pictures were taken on Monday, May 26 after the incident on Thursday, May 21.

Easter 2009

Oh my, I am a little behind on my posts. I have been so busy here lately with work and trying to get everything ready for Mr. Hunter's arrival. In addition to that, we have put our house on the market due to the fact that Nathan has lost his job of five years from Howmet. Wish us the best in that endevour.
It has been a while since my last post, and I do believe that I left off with Hunter's 4D sonogram pics. Since then we have had Easter. We had a fun filled day with family on Saturday, which included an Easter Egg Hunt and a birthday party for one of Nathan's cousins. Then we had a blessed day at Church on Sunday.

After our egg hunt at the Huffstutler's we celebrated Rusty's birthday.

On Sunday, Mackenzie woke up to an Easter surprise in the living room. The Easter Bunny came during the night and left Mackenzie her presents.

Ok, her hair was curled, but the humidity killed it!!! This was after church!!!

After church, we went over to Memaw and Papaw's house for Easter Lunch. Little did we know that the Easter Bunny stopped by over there, too.

After Easter lunch, Mackenzie and I colored Easter Eggs. She always has so much fun doing this every year!!!

1st Time for Everything

Today, March 10, 2009, will be a day that we will remember forever. Mackenzie made her first trip to the dentist today. I can not believe how "grown- up" she was. She let the dentist do everything that he needed to, other than the x-rays; those will be done in 6 months. She was such the big girl. The report was that she has no cavities and her teeth look great. No problems whatsoever. She has been brushing her teeth all by herself for quite some time now. She does an excellent job. She even makes sure that she uses her "mouthwash" a.k.a. water from the scope bottle. Of course, I had to capture the moment today.

Mackenzie got to use the tools before the check-up began. Here she is using "Mr. Thirsty" to suck the water out of the cup.

Here she is getting her teeth polished and cleaned with grape "toothpaste". She really liked this part.

The final step before Dr. Burrous came in was the flossing. She did an outstanding job at getting her teeth flossed.

3 Sweet Years

Well, our baby girl is growing so fast. She is now 3 going on 30. LOL!!! As I look back to three years ago, I can't help but get teary-eyed. Just to think that this little girl, our miracle from God, was sent to us. I could have never been so lucky. So, here we are three years into her sweet life, we celebrate with family and friends.
Mackenzie picked out the whole theme of the party- My Little Ponies.
Playing in the basketball bouncer with her friend Lexi. Sliding down the slide all by herself. Sliding with Lexi.
Sliding on her back. Blowing our her 3 candles.

Getting to put her hand print on the wall of honor at Jump for Joy. The final product.

It's A........

BOY!!!!! That's right we are going to be blessed with a son!!!! We are so excited; our family will now be complete. On Friday, January 16th was when we went to the sonogram and everything was right on the money. He was weighing in at 10 oz. on the dot and still due June 11. He is apparently going to be just like his big sister, very active. He was kicking me and moving around pretty much the whole time we were doing the sono. It's a good thing that the tech got "the shot" the very first time. Otherwise, I don't think he would've let us see. But, nonetheless, he is very much ALL BOY!!!!!

With love,

Christmas 2008

This year's Christmas was very eventful for our little angel. She even got a visit from Mr. Santa Claus himself the night before Christmas....Mackenzie telling Santa that she wants a big toy and that she has been a big girl sleeping in her bed all by herself.Mackenzie standing by the cookies and milk she left for santa on Christmas Eve night. She made the cookies all by herself.Mackenzie opening up one of her "big presents" from Santa.
This was her big present from the big man.... Her very own jeep.

Her daddy got her this shirt that says I'm a HUGE Seminole Fan. This is her daddy's favorite college team.

We both picked out a My Little Pony Playdough set for her.

These were only just a few of her presents from mommy and daddy.

We opened up gifts at the house and then went to Memaw and Papaw's house for more Christmas fun.

Over at Memaw and Papaw's house, she got her very own black and brown boots.

This was her collection of My Little Ponies from Memaw and Papaw.

This is one of her princess dresses from her Aunt Debbie.
This is her dog biscuit.

This is Mackenzie taking a nap with her dog, buscuit.

Mackenzie says Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

Pics with Santa

Yep, I said pics (plural). Everytime we saw Santa, we had to have our picture taken with him. Last year, I couldn't even get her to go near the Jolly ole man, but this year was a different story.
The first time was with our cousin Kassi at the Northeast Mall in Dallas.
The second visit was at the MPEC in Wichita Falls.

The third time, he even went to Mackenzie's school.

The fourth and final visit was at our local Walmart.

SURPRISE

Well, Everyone has waited long enough to hear the surprising news.. so, here it is........

Some time the beginning on June, Mackenzie is going to be a big sister!!!! That's right, I'm pregnant with #2. We are excited and anxious to find out what it will be. As of right now, it's just our other little peanut. I have already had my first sonogram and everything looked and sounded good. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat, which helped me calm my nerves that I actually am pregnant. Up until then, other than being sick, I had no other symptoms. I want to include the sono pic. I was 9 weeks at the time of the sono. As of today, I am twelve weeks and one day.

It's bat girl

This year Mackenzie actually picked out her own costume. She has this fancy with Batman. I wonder who got her into that (his Name shall remain nameless a.k.a Papaw). Anywho, I could not for the life of me get her to choose one of the princesses. So, so there wouldn't be any arguments, I gave in. I must say, she did make an awfully cute batgirl. Yes, She chose batgirl. Here are some pics from Halloween.

My baby's first Day of 2yr. school

Yes, yes, I know she has been going there all summer, but we actually had to buy school supplies, along with a backpack. My little girl is growing up so fast. I didn't get many pictures due to time constraint. Guess that just tells me I need to wake up earlier next year. Anyway, here are the pics I did take on her "first day of school."Ahh, my little girl all ready for school, with breakfast in hand. She is ready to go.Out in the parking lot of her school. She looks like she is ready with her backpack on the proper way.And off she goes to the cafeteria to meet her teacher and have breakfast. Of course we already knew who her teacher was going to be, she had her all summer long.Mackenzie and Mrs. Darla. We love her!!!
